Texas Tech University has coined "Guns Up!" Here at ecoTech we want to change "Guns Up!" to "Green Up!"
What is Green up?
Guns up is made up of our 5 fingers which represent, our 5 primary agenda of action items that we want to implement at Texas Tech University.
GREEN UP!
Student Outreach
The only way we can make big changes and differences, is if we focus on the small changes an individual can make. We want to reach out to students and educate them how they can make a difference here at campus.
Food
We want to advocate, and change the types of food we have on campus, to not only be more inclusive but also more sustainable. Here at TTU we dont have many healthy, or inclusive food items available for those who need to avoid certain foods due to religious or medical reasons.
Reuse, Recycle, Reduce
We want to re-implement the TTU recycling program, as well as teach students what they can do to reduce the amount of single use plastic they use.
Research
We want to research what other campuses around the nation, and see what they do to be sustainable, and how we can implement this at TTU. We are also researching new ways our campus can be sustainable.
Containers
We want to create a reusable cup/container program in all dining halls, that will allow TTU to get rid of Styrofoam cups, and plastic containers,
